Traveling! I LOVE IT!!!! I know not everyone does, but we are roadtrip/RV camping people and I think it’s a blast!

My favorite destination is US National Parks. Haven’t been to one yet that I don’t love, but Yellowstone is hands down my #1 love!

We went for the first time in September of 2016 (omg it’s been 4 years!!!). It was our first major road trip as a family. My son was just starting his junior year of high school and my husband had never taken a family vacation in his life!!!!

It was a life changing trip for our whole family and was the catalyst that instilled a love of road tripping in my entire family, tho now that our son is almost 21 it’s mostly hubs and I who road trip since he works summers for the US Forest Service and can’t usually go.

I haven’t used Yellowstone or any other National Park in my books yet, but I’m sure will someday! They are hugely inspirational!

If you haven’t seen a national park, I’m shooting in the dark here assuming that most nations have them or something similar (something to research) I highly recommend taking the time to do so!

New year, new you?

Or are you not a fan of the whole New Years resolution thing?

I usually find myself somewhere in the middle. I WANT to believe that the first of the year can somehow, magically make me more motivated, make better choices… get on the treadmill and run…(I live in the Pacific Northwest and I’m just never going to be a fan of running in the rain).

So this year I’m approaching this a bit differently. I signed up for Noom (a weight loss and healthy lifestyle coaching program). My doctor advised me to get my health under control, so here I am, being a grown up and doing as advised.

I’ve been doing the program for a week. I’m down 3 lbs and super motivated to see where it takes me!

I’ve also set some writing goals. To finish and release books 3 & 4 in my K&S Securities Series, Embracing Ellie and Guarded by Grayson. I’ve made a ton of progress on them both in the final months of 2019 and hope to have both of them released into the wild by June!

I also want to find a way to be more present for my husband and son (yeah, he’s almost 21, but still…). Its hard juggling a full time job, being an indie author and trying to have family time. But I’m gonna figure it out!

What about you! New Year, New You or is it just life as usual? Let me know in the comments below!

Teaser Tuesday: Embracing Ellie

So it’s been a while, but I’m 60k words into book 3 of my K&S Securities Series. I thought it would be Nikki and Grayson’s story, but Blake and Ellie finally started talking to me!

#teamblake

I wanted to share some teasers with you!!!

Ellie

All my days are the same. I work, sleep, and then get up and work again. Day after day and nothing ever changes.

I love my family, but there has to be something more. Someone just for me.

Then one night he is there. Kind, protective and sweet. Too good to be true.

I have no idea what to do, so when I lose control of the situation, what else is there to do but push him away?

Even if the only thing I want is to be held in his embrace.

Blake

All it took was one look, one solitary glance, and she owned me heart and soul.

I never knew what I was missing until she smiled at me, until I kissed her sweet lips and was changed forever.

I will face any challenge, fight any battle, to make her see that we belong to each other.

Even if the only one standing in my way is her.

Embracing Ellie is book 3 in the K&S Securities Series. It picks up the story from Blake Stone’s perspective, a little removed from the angst of Finding Faye and Acquiring Analise, but still in the thick of the action.

Blake Stone has purposefully kept women at a distance, focusing on his computers and building K&S with Travis.

Ellie Lovell’s entire life is about responsibility and doing what needs to be done to provide for her family.

When they meet they are drawn toward each other, but neither of them have experience with relationships. Blake wants to protect Ellie from every worry she has.

When he goes a step too far she distances herself, not wanting any man to fight her battles, even knowing she isn’t good at fighting her own.

Together they learn that it’s okay to let someone in, to lift each other up and to find love in the midst of the chaos surrounding them.

Hi! Talking about Christmas / holiday decorating this week! Do you? Don’t you? And all the in between!

I LOVE to see a beautifully decorated house at Christmas (that’s the tradition that we follow in my home), but sadly I am terrible at decorating.

We are totally, fly by the seat of our pants people in my house. Even with this. We don’t even have a tree up yet! I am hoping to rectify that today though!

It’s probably not going to surprise you when I say we don’t have a theme that we use to decorate. We have a collection of fun ornaments that we have collected over 21 years and it’s fun pulling them out and talking about them while we dress the tree.

My one thing is that the tree has to be topped with an angel. My husband would prefer a star, but I win! 👼

So here’s hoping that this holiday season finds you all well and hopefully more prepared than I am. (I’m getting used to the chaos though.)

Freebie Friday: K&S Edition

That’s right, today only, my debut novel Finding Faye is FREE on Kindle!

Get the series started today!

Travis Keller and Faye Cooper are childhood friends, despite their significant age difference. The pair keep in touch after Travis joins the Marines to get away from his abusive guardian, leaving Faye alone by necessity and promising that he will be back for her as soon as he can.
Jumping forward to Faye’s teen years, all hell breaks loose in her world and she finds herself on the run.
One short letter reaches Travis while he is serving active duty overseas, and though he wants to be there for her he can’t just leave… and by the time he arrives, he’s too late.
For several years finding Faye becomes his main prerogative. He starts a successful investigative and security company with the goal of helping to find the girl who he cared about like a little sister. Even though he knows she is now a woman…IF she is still alive.
When they reconnect, worlds collide in the best, and scariest, of ways. Taken by the mob, Faye needs Travis’ help and this time he swears he will not let her down.

K&S Securities: Where Military Meets Mafia

Friday I released book 2 in my K&S Securities Series.

The series starts with Finding Faye, laying the groundwork and introducing key characters in both the K&S family and the Cerelli crime family.

Finding Faye is a fast paced, never let’s you go, romantic suspense that sets you up with great characters that you will want to take the time to get to know.

Analise and Xavier Cerelli’s story overlaps Travis and Faye’s. There are some shared events, told from a different perspective.

Xavier is the son of a mafia kingpin. One reluctant to step into his father’s shoes when he passes, setting into motion a rivalry he could never have anticipated. A complex man who struggles with the darkness inside of him. Analise is the ray of sunshine that brightens his world from afar.

When an opportunity presents itself, he takes advantage of it and makes her his, with devastating consequences .

Analise can’t be the trophy wife that she thinks Xavier wants, so she does what any independent woman would do. She leaves him. Her path intersects with another young woman on the run, and when the Cerelli crime family takes them both Xavier and Travis form an unlikely alliance to get their women back where they belong.

Acquiring Analise does have triggers for some people.

Currently I have 2 more projects in the K&S series in the works. Blake Stone’s story which is still currently unnamed (I know, its about darn time), and Guarded by Grayson. I’m not sure what order they will be released in, but they should be coming in the first half of 2020!

A special thanks to Book Cover Kingdom and Shepard Originals for my covers and graphics.
